National Education Day Historical Overview

National Education Day - the feast of Polish industry and higher education celebrated on Oct. 14, the anniversary of the National Education Commission (KEN), created at the initiative of King Stanislaw August Poniatowski by Partition Sejm resolution of 14 October 1773. Popularly known as the Day of the Teacher.

Historical Overview

History Teachers 'Day in Poland has its origins in 1957 during the World Conference on Teaching in Warsaw found that 20 November will be the International Day of the Teachers' Charter and the celebration of teachers. The conference was organized by the Polish Teachers' Union (PNA) .

Law of 27 April 1972 called the Charter of rights and duties of a teacher, introduced the Teacher's Day, celebrated the anniversary of the establishment of the National Education Commission. In 1982, the Charter of rights and duties of the teacher is replaced by the Teacher's Charter by changing the name on the feast day of National Education and the introduction of a record date shall be a feast for all education professionals and is free from the classroom.

Celebration

National Education Day is celebrated in the institutions related to education, an opportunity to reward outstanding people for education. Minister of National Education teachers hands of gold, silver, bronze Cross of Merit medals, the National Education Commission and Ministry of Education Prize for excellence of teaching and education.

Also, distinctions and awards for teachers by school superintendents and directors of local government schools are handed to the ceremonies organized on this occasion.
